Melissa Rubio Osorio is a textile and mixed-media artist based in Miami, Florida.

As a mixed media artist with a background in architecture, my work explores the balance between strength and vulnerability. Influenced by my parents' professions in interior design and architecture, I use materials such as pantyhose, fabric, buttons, and sometimes oil paint to convey intimacy and the flexibility needed to adapt to shapes, rules, and circumstances.

Pantyhose symbolize both the sensuality of skin and the layers of vulnerability and adaptability we navigate in life. These materials represent intimacy—both physical and emotional—reflecting how we connect with ourselves and others in moments of openness and vulnerability.
